CNC Rotary Tables
If you are a hobbyist or a professional woodworker then you might have heard of the term CNC Rotary Table. CNC means “Computer numerical control.” A CNC machine is computer numerical control machinery which is used in industries to manipulate rotating pieces of machinery, usually in manufacturing or other industries. Many different types of CNC machines are available on the market today. The rotary table is one of these types of machines.
The CNC rotary table is generally used by engineers or architects while they are designing a building or design for a structure. The reason being that it requires precise measurement and calculation of the position of the piece or parts relative to the rest of the structure. Precision is required because if the piece is moved or changed in the middle of its fabrication, the errors caused by human error can throw off the construction completely. This can also cause catastrophic damage to the business if the design is near to becoming final and only minor adjustments are made before it is released to production. A CNC Rotary Table consists of several main components. The base is typically made out of steel or aluminum depending upon the type of equipment which will be used. The wheels attached to the base are generally motorized. There are servos attached to the wheels to enable them to move at various speeds relative to the axis set by the user. In addition there are various types of computer-controlled programs which are run by the software on the CNC Rotary Table thus enabling it to perform various operations and commands.
The motors are controlled through software and are enclosed within the table. To ensure that high precision is achieved in the fabrication, these motors are precisely adjusted to ensure that the machined parts are of exact sizes. High precision is also maintained through the calibration and testing of the motor to ensure that it is operating at the right operating temperature to achieve high accuracy.
The computer controlled software is able to read the raw data from the different CNC Rotary Tables and then instruct the CNC machinery accordingly. It is capable of measuring the sizes of the parts that need to be machined. Based on the file size, it then instructs the CNC Rotary Table how to precisely cut the material to the required dimensions. Through the use of the 5th axis technology, it is possible to precisely control the movements of the work piece such that the machined pieces are at the right place and exact interval in all directions.
With a CNC Rotary Table, precision is possible at any time during the process. It helps to achieve greater accuracy in cutting materials than what is possible with a manual machine. It reduces wastage and also helps in saving energy. In a manufacturing setting where time is of essence, every millimeter counts, the use of a CNC Rotary Table allows for speedier production while providing accurate measurements.
