A CNC Rotary Table (or RTF) is an innovative new high-speed positioning system that is primarily utilized in the production of metal working. It allows the user to cut or drill a work at precise intervals around a stationary (usually vertical or horizontal) axis. When using a CNC Rotary Table, the user can move the table with a rotary tool that has a cam or fixed bed. By doing this, the user can position the table in any direction as desired by simply reversing the cam lever. This allows for varied cutting angles and allows for the user to perform repetitive tasks without having to move the table to the desired location.
CNC Rotary Tables is built on a sturdy, solid steel frame that is supported at the top with hydraulic dampers. At the bottom of the table are two high precision aluminum plates that are able to lock in the appropriate positions when the base is positioned. The plates lock in place with ball bearings that allow for high precision and long term use. Typically, the CNC system consists of four separate components: the base, the two wheels on the table, and the two hydraulic wheels that support the base.
Most CNC Rotary Tables has a high level of precision performance that makes them ideal for CNC machining centers and tooling applications. They are built with a very large moving range that allows for a complete selection of movements to be performed. The ability to move the base and the wheel in almost any direction as desired opens up a wide variety of project designs for designers. Because of this, many companies and manufacturers choose to utilize a CNC system as opposed to traditional machining. Using a CNC system allows you to design and fabricate parts and pieces quickly and then immediately transfer the design and prototype to a production machine or die slot.
The CNC rotary table is equipped with numerous programmable options that allow users to configure the CNC system for high precision and accuracy. Users are also permitted to vary the “gearing” of the machine, which refers to the number of teeth within each linear section of the material. In addition, the programmable options allow for fine tuning of the machine to accommodate for minor variations in the material. This allows for the material to maintain it’s exact measurements and consistency regardless of what type of pressure is applied to the material.
Typically, a CNC system includes a stepper motor that enables the user to fine-tune the CNC rotary tables by fine-tuning each of the four axes. In some instances, the software may enable the user to switch from a direct mechanical operation to a digital (computer numerical controlled) operation. In some other instances, the stepper motor may be configured so that it provides feedback to the user. In other instances, the stepper motor may incorporate an interface with a control unit that interfaces with a host computer system.
The CNC rotary tables are very efficient and accurate when used with some of the most common fabrication operations. They allow for complete customization of the equipment to accommodate the specific requirements of the customer.
