Palletizing is a large industry and has various types of methods of storage used. Typically, palletizing systems have been designed only to manage a single kind of merchandise. These include bucket pallets, case pallets, drum pallets and plastic bottle pallets. They can also be specially designed to manage a variety of other kinds of packages as well.
There are many manufacturers in the market who specialize in the design, production and sales of palletizing systems. Today, there are mainly two major types of packaging equipment used in the palletizing systems. First, there is the conveyor system which is comprised of a series of linked containers that transport product from one level to another. In the manufacturing process, the product is moved to the packaging area in a fixed manner. This type of packaging equipment is mostly used for heavy objects and products that are long lasting. However, they are not as efficient as robotic palletizing systems.
The second major type of packaging equipment used in palletizing systems is the robotic palletizer. Unlike the conveyor type, this system does not require any physical contact with the product being packed. Instead, the user places the product on the pallet and pushes it towards the opening or edges of the unit. The system then cuts the pallet into required lengths and places them on the receiving area of the machine.
Robotic palletizing machines do not need much manual labor. Therefore, they can be very cost effective. Moreover, it provides flexibility because you can easily move the units from one location to another. This eliminates the necessity of having to build a ramp for the user to be able to place the equipment on a high shelf. Additionally, these units make it possible for you to increase the speed of the manufacturing process without the need to add manpower. They also help reduce the waste of energy and money by not wearing out the packaging area because robots do the lifting instead.
Palletizing systems can be operated in a number of ways. First, the operator manually controls the flow of the materials being stacked in rows or in a straight line. Second, the system can use a variety of motion methods to stack the pallets in accordance with the needs of the customer. Thirdly, various other types of palletizing machines such as wireline and wireless palletizing may be used.
