What Is A Direct Drive Rotary Table?
The direct drive rotary table is basically a type of rotary table specifically designed for the constant operation that is multiple times more precise and agile than traditional face-ball gear or rack and pinion rotary table. This rotary table can be directly mounted on a shaft of a shaft, or it can use a gear-changing rack that allows you to change gears as you are spinning your wheel. A direct drive rotary table has the advantage over other rotary tables for a variety of reasons. First, it does not need any counterbalance springs because there is no pendulum that results in an unstable swinging shaft. Also, with the use of a direct-drive rotary table, the operator needs only one hand to control the table as opposed to all four when using traditional rotary tables.

Typically, it is constructed from a combination of aluminum and fiberglass materials. These materials provide excellent rigidity at relatively low temperatures and, due to their lightweight structure, provide a good measure of stability. The design of a rotary table also contributes to its cost, with intricate cutting edges contributing to the increased cost.
A direct drive rotary table typically has features such as an adjustable timing window, variable valve lift, anti-stick clutch system, high-precision bearings, and sealed bearing housings. However, there are some direct drive rotary table options that feature anti-static clutch systems. These clutch systems eliminate the need for a motor because the clutch drives the rollers on the table itself. This eliminates any electrical components, which allows for longer, safer play and greater accuracy. Anti-static clutch systems also have the advantage of eliminating the need for mechanical springs, eliminating any potential shock to the user.
Most direct drive rotary tables have the ability to withstand extreme temperature ranges. Their construction also allows them to resist corrosion and remain looking good for many years.
